Question: I've been working on a great game for a while. How can I submit the game for funding assistance?
Answer: We do not take solicitations. The best way to get our attention is to enter your game in the myriad of video game competitions that already exist. If we like your game, we will contact you. Check out our Games page to see the previous recipients of the Gold Egg Project.
Question: How much funding do you provide?
Answer: The amount of funding depends on factors such as scope of the game, target platform and how far along the game is before we help with funding. The less of our money you use the quicker you pay us back and get us off the books.
Question: Will you publish our game?
Answer: No. We are here primarily to help developers self publish by helping with funding. We are not here to market your game or to make you famous, that's your job! We can help answer questions about getting signed with console hardware manufacturers since we've been down that road before, but our goal is to help you stay independent by giving you the tools to self publish.
Question: Do you want my IP?
Answer: No, you keep your IP. We don't want any part of it.
Question: How much does this cost?
Answer: Our funding model is the most efficient in the industry. The only cheaper way is to probably borrow the money from your mom. Terms are discussed once your game has passed our vetting process and before any agreements are put in place.
Question: How many games do you fund at once?
Answer: Currently we are funding one title at a time, but that may change in the future.
Question: If selected, will you market my game for me?
Answer: No, but we will give you suggestions on the basics for getting the word out on your game. Marketing is not hard, but like everything, it takes work and persistence.
Question: Who are you guys?
Answer: The Gold Egg Project was created by The Behemoth.
Question: I have so many questions, how can I virtually speak to you by harnessing the power of the internet?
Answer: We'll let you know when we're ready for you to be ready. You know?
